A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable investment account that simplifies the administrative burden of fulfilling your philanthropic goals. DAFs offer the favorable tax benefits of giving directly to charities with added flexibility around the timing of gifts. Many DAFs also earn interest, growing your impact even more. Give As You Earn
Many companies offer payroll giving programs that allow you to easily and automatically deduct your donation from your paycheck. Some also offer gift matching, often a dollar for every dollar their employees donate to a nonprofit of their choice, as part of their employee benefits. This is a great way to double your impact and help put your company’s dollars towards a cause you care about. It is as easy as asking your Human Resources Department if they offer payroll giving and/or matching gifts and following their instructions for requesting a gift match along with your donation. Google, Boeing, Microsoft, and King County are among the many employers who offer such programs. Maybe yours does too!
In-Kind Donations
We welcome donations of goods and services such as farm equipment, marketing or public relations support, or other supplies that could be useful on a farm or for a growing nonprofit. Please contact development@vivafarms.org to see if what you have to offer is a good fit and to discuss next steps!
Make a gift from your IRA
If you are 72 or older, you can donate up to $100,000 each year to Viva Farms from your IRA or 401K without it being counted as taxable income. This gift can be used as your required minimum distribution (RMD). Please check with your tax professional to confirm updated tax and program information.
If you wish to make a gift from your IRA simply download and complete this letter and submit it to your IRA administrator.
