SupportING OUR WORK

Growing Farmers, Community and Food

The Viva Farms’ CSA is a subscription to weekly boxes of farm-fresh organic produce, grown by the incubator farmers in our program. By joining our CSA, you are directly contributing to beginning farmers’ success in building viable farm businesses.

What makes our CSA different? For one, produce is sourced from the 22 independent farm businesses (7 Latino-owned) consisting of 37 farm owners (44% of farm owners are female). Secondly, the diversity of produce is like no other. With so many farms and personalities, each brings their own flair to farming. In addition to all the classic vegetables like carrots and salad mix, produce like kohlrabi, cilantro, brussels sprouts and winter squash make an appearance in our boxes. Thirdly, the seasonal fruit like strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and apples are a true Pacific Northwest delight! Once you’ve tried local farm-fresh fruit, you’ll never look at it the same way again.

Our three farms in Burlington, Mt. Vernon and King Counties in Washington State cover 90 acres and are host to three farm incubator programs. Since our founding in 2009, Viva Farms has educated over 900 small farmers (300+ Spanish speakers) in sustainable organic farming. In the 2019 farming season, we supported 26 farm businesses, 35 incubating farmers, 15 practicum students, and over 150 sustainable agriculture workshop attendees. Support beginning farmers today by donating now.
